About two weeks ago I domain parked MortgageVendor.com to learn more about the practice. MortgageVendor will be re-launched in 2008 so more about that in the future.

What is domain parking? In a nutshell, once you have a registered URL, it may be parked and used as an advertiser for other websites. I took the easy route and had the domain forwarded to Sedo. Sedo offers domain parking as a service. They post the ads and content and then split the revenue. The goal is modest. I’d like to make enough off the name to pay the annual registration fee. But with a little effort it might do a lot more.

This month so far, I have 6 visits and 2 clicks, generating $1.50. I have no idea where they came from or how they found MortgageVendor.com but it will be interesting to see how various strategies in the future might lead to additional traffic. I plan on journaling the progress here.
